It also brought to mind the way Shinsen’s fansubs for Speed Grapher incorporated lyrics into the slideshow ending credits against a uniform background. The question arose whether these two instances were connected, given that both were Gonzo productions.
It’s plausible that the person responsible for the credits simply went above and beyond, enhancing the opening animation. This would have likely been a coordinated effort, as the flat background was essential for post-processing.
