UlasanAnime.com – March 22nd marks World Pillow Fight Day, an event that can be explored further on its straightforward website. It essentially involves flashmobs armed with pillows, engaging in a public display of freedom of assembly, whether using feather, cotton, or perhaps more formidable projectiles. Or perhaps not a flashmob, but simply a gathering of people doing something unconventional.

More noteworthy for me is March 21st. The band The Pillows is scheduled to perform at Anime Boston that weekend, a convention I don’t typically attend but is somewhat local to them. However, on Friday, March 21st, they are also playing a gig in New York City, a city where Ryusuke’s friend tragically passed away. It seems.
Having experienced a similar concert lineup in 2005, featuring Noodles and The Pillows, I can confidently say it was a thoroughly enjoyable event. It’s a show that shouldn’t be missed if you have any inclination towards anime culture or a general appreciation for this particular style of rock music.
Speaking of that genre of music, I recently acquired the video game Rock Band. It’s proving to be an incredibly addictive and fun game, especially when played with a group of friends. It’s quite similar to the scenario depicted in this image.
