UlasanAnime.com – The author reflects on their 2015 experiences, particularly their involvement in overseas anime events and personal goals. A significant achievement was attending fewer anime conventions, including missing Anime Expo, which was a deliberate choice to better manage spending. Despite this, the author admits to traveling to Japan more frequently than in previous years, which also incurred costs.

The highlight of the author’s event participation in 2015 was a trip in July that coincided with the 10th-anniversary event for Idolm@ster and the 2nd Osaka concert for Wake Up, Girls!. Checking off items from their bucket list in the spring was also a notable accomplishment. The author also expresses enjoyment in approaching activities in a more “HPT” (presumably a personal acronym for a preferred method) way throughout the year.
Regarding anime consumption, the author observed a decrease in the number of shows watched, attributing this to having less free time. Despite this, they still managed to catch up on series like Gatchaman Crowds S2, the Yatterman reboot, Gangsta., and Sidonia S2. They successfully completed Shoukugeki no Soma and kept up with Ace of the Diamond, suggesting that the reduced watch count wasn’t necessarily due to a lack of effort or interest. Overall, 2015 is described as a strong year for anime viewers due to the diverse and well-produced selection of shows available.
On a less positive note, the author feels their writing output has suffered, both on their personal blog and another site, Jtor. They express a desire for better discipline in managing chores and improving efficiency to create more time for writing. However, they acknowledge that these tasks require significant energy, and their current work already drains their motivation. The author emphasizes the importance of drive, stating that if they truly want something done, they will find a way to accomplish it.
The author reiterates that event participation is expensive and plans to cut back in the following year. They fondly recall the experience of meeting both old and new friends and acquaintances, and the general enjoyment of socializing during these events.
