UlasanAnime.com – The author had a demanding month between mid-March and mid-April due to attending two conventions and a trip to Japan. This left them with little time to catch up on the anime season. While they did watch some anime during the winter, they didn’t feel they watched enough to form strong opinions. They are considering revisiting some shows left on the back burner, such as Dimension W, and are unsure if they will ever catch up on Concrete.

The author is now ready to share their initial thoughts on the currently airing Spring anime series.
Macross Delta: This series is perceived as an improved version of Macross Frontier. If it maintains its quality, it has the potential to be a truly remarkable show by episode 24-25.
Kuromukuro: Initially, the author was drawn to this anime due to the involvement of notable names like PA Works, Okamura Tensai, and Mocho. Now, they find themselves genuinely enjoying it as a serious science fiction giant robot anime.
The author has no current opinion on Re:Zero and has not yet watched it, but intends to do so soon.
Joker Game: While enjoyable, this series is already exhibiting some flaws. Its ultimate success will likely depend on its ability to maintain audience suspension of disbelief. The setting is intriguing and worth paying attention to, but the author is uncertain if it’s enough to sustain it as pure entertainment.

Haifuri: The author is enjoying this series, finding it fun, even beyond the character of Mocho chef. They are blogging about it at Jtor and consider it a pleasant surprise so far – a harmlessly fun experience that deviates from expectations.
Kabaneri: The author has not watched much of this series yet but is curious to see what keeps people invested in it. They question if audiences are simply craving stories of this nature.
Bakuon: This is considered the best guilty pleasure of the season. The author believes that comparing it to K-ON misses the point, as they offer entirely different experiences.
Kiznaiver: This anime is deemed a perfect fit for “anitwitter” discussions, though it unfortunately lacks a strong hook. Despite this, the author plans to watch the entire series.
Sakamoto-san: The show is fun, but its appeal fades quite quickly.
Tanaka-kun: The author praises the voice acting in this series, calling it the best they’ve heard from Kokochan. They appreciate the seiyuu performances contributing to a rather healing romance.
Cereberus: After watching three episodes, the author gave up on this series. While not terrible, they simply lost interest.
Flying Witch: This anime is described as peak “hipster kuukikei” and aligns with the author’s taste. Although they aren’t deeply in love with it, they find it genuinely fun and enjoyable.
Anne Happy: This series is referred to as the author’s “seasonal penance.” They manage to get through it primarily due to Oumura Shin’s direction and its resemblance to “Korean Zombie Desk Car.”
Kumamiko: The author is ambivalent about jokes targeting rural people, especially when framed as bullying cute girls. However, they are amenable to the show’s meta-concept, and the comedy often lands well. The latest episode is noted as the closest thing to something the author actively dislikes this season, which they paradoxically find enjoyable in a peculiar, “M-kind of way.”
Sanba Sansa: The author states they cannot continue watching this series, humorously suggesting that Anne-Happy may have “lobotomized” them.
Mayoiga: After watching one episode, the author feels a desire to watch more but struggles to bring themselves to do so.
Netoge: The author identifies this as their type of anime, but thus far, it has been more misses than hits. They are unsure if they will continue watching.
The author also mentions watching several fun shorts this season. While not particularly taken with Luluco, they are still following that series.
In terms of viewing habits, the author subscribed to FUNi despite issues with their Chromecast option a few months prior. They are unsure if an update has resolved the bug but are managing by watching on a Roku. This subscription is for three specific shows: Netoge, Kumamiko, and Dimension W, the latter of which they have yet to finish. The author also contemplates watching more of Concrete.
